PentaxForums.Com announced today that next month Pentax will release the new MX-1. Not only does it have a really cool retro look, it has a slightly larger sensor and what appears to be all the features my Nikon P-300 plus a few more. Of course with an introductory price of $500 the Nikon is in no immediate danger of being replaced anytime soon.
Of course, as I recall the P-300 was introduced with a similar price a few years ago but I bought mine for about half of that a year later. The Pentax K-01 I just got for Christmas entered the marketplace last year at about $800 and is now selling for less than half of that so it seems that if you can stand to wait a year to get your new toy you can save big time.
